Integrated Design

Cello has had a long history is manufacturing high end stereo equipment. The company has been dedicated to furthering the art of music reproduction by designing and building equipment of only the very highest quality in limited quantities by hand.

In keeping with their tradition of developing the highest quality stereophonic equipment Cello contracted us to provide them with concepts for a new line of equipment which would express technological sophistication and quality.

Our assignment was to provide Cello with a new front panel design their new line of stereo equipment. Unlike lower priced systems, the new line was devoid of controls and indicators leaving the panel stark. This presented us with the challenge of creating concepts which expressed aesthetic appeal, quality and technological sophistication without compromising the product’s purpose. Our concepts explored design possibilities inspired by jewelry which included combinations of textures, patterns and materials such as stone inlays. These concepts resulted in designs which were truly unique to stereo equipment as illustrated in these renderings.
