Description

Trade Name: DCA 2000

Company Name: Bayer Diagnostics

Bayer’s DCA 2000 is an in-office blood analyzer that was designed by Integrated Design Systems and Bayer’s engineering staff. The DCA 2000 was developed to provide fast, simple, easy to use and accurate results to healthcare professionals interested in diabetes & hemoglobin testing. The DCA 2000 allows doctors and patients to find out test results for hemoglobin A1c and microalbumin/creatinine tests within minutes instead of days. Adjustments to insulin, exercise, etc., can be made immediately to maintain proper blood glucose levels. Tighter glycemic control is essential to the effective management of diabetes and its complications. The DCA 2000 enables early detection of complications associated with renal disease and will also measure low concentrations of albumin, creatine and albumin/creatinine ratio in urine. These lab tests allow doctors and patients to know if daily control measures are sufficient to lower the risks of complications.

The bold simple design was specially developed based on ergonomics and ease of use. The slopped orientation of the DCA 2000 was intentionally designed to integrate ease of use with aesthetics, technology and minimum use of lab bench area. The DCA 2000 has remained a classic for more than 15 years when it was first introduced.
