History

IDS was incorporated in 1983 by founder and current president, Michael Paloian. Since its inception, IDS has provided clients with creative, cutting-edge product design solutions from initial concepts to production liaison.

IDS offers these services within a seamless development process comprising:

  • industrial design concept ideation
  • engineering development
  • approval of production first articles

In the early days, designs were developed on drafting tables using markers and pencils. A selected concept was eventually detailed into production part drawings using conventional drafting practices.  Handmade models and prototypes typically required many weeks to complete. The process was slow and labor intensive.

Utilizing today’s technology, IDS has improved its productivity and range of services ten fold. Its state of the art CAD systems, instantaneous file transfer and SLA prototyping liaison have reduced product design times dramatically.  Now IDS can service clients across the globe, swiftly and efficiently, thanks to its advanced communications, closely-monitored development costs and exceptional quality.
